BSSA provides respite services to families who support Individuals with disabilities in their own homes. The types and methods of support is different for every Individual and family. BSSA will work collaboratively with the Individual and their family to establish what supports are needed and desired.
BSSA Respite services do not have specific days and hours it operates within. The program is flexible to meet the needs of the Individuals in service and the families they live with. The Respite services provided will be determined by the Individual, their Circle of Support, and the funding body.
The goal of the program is to provide support to the Individual and the family unit by providing relief and/or supports to the main caregiver(s) while maintain the Individual’s right to a safe, healthy, and quality life in the environment which they have chosen to live and be supported in.
